It's not just your kids that need to stay active - healthy adults should get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity each week. Here are three suggestions for being physically active with your kids:
A family-friendly 5K race
These races are usually for a good cause, so your kids can be excited and inspired to not only be active, but also to give back to the community. Try walking and jogging with your kids, or pushing a stroller while you do your own thing.
Small children love dancing, regardless of the music choice. Take this opportunity to dance with them! It doesn’t matter if you look silly because you will both be having fun, and dancing is a great way to burn calories.
Play a video game
OK, so this one sounds counter-intuitive, but view it as a "once in a while" event. Family game night can be a new source of exercise with the new Wii consoles. Wii Fit games are designed to exercise the whole body.
